| Since 1981, DATAMAXX has been supplying network access products to the law enforcement community. These products are designed to provide a full function interface to your state law enforcement network as well as NCIC and NLETS.
DATAMAXX is now introducing the next generation of network access products. CyberLINXX offers many of the features found in our desktop workstation application, LINXX-2020. CyberLINXX provides this functionality from within your existing Internet Browser.
Designed for the needs of limited access agencies, or agencies with personnel who need only occasional access to the law enforcement network, CyberLINXX permits access to the state Message Switch through the user's existing browser such as Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator. While more complex transactions such as NCIC entries and time sensitive messages such as Hit Confirmations may require an advanced workstation, CyberLINXX is ideal for users performing occasional queries.
COMPLETE SECURITY
The CyberLINXX Server provides full authentication and advanced security features to ensure that only authorized personnel gain access to law enforcement data. In addition to verification of users attempting to access the system, only authorized transactions are presented to the user. Additional security features include:
* System access time limits may be configured for each user.
* Complete logging of all attempts (successful and unsuccessful) to access the system.
* IP address & machine name verification and tracking.
* Detailed logging of all actions taken by a user while logged into the system.
* Group & User defined transaction authorization.
FAMILIAR FEATURES
Users who are familiar with the features of our advanced workstation products will quickly recognize the transaction formats utilized by CyberLINXX. Users who are already adept at using a browser to obtain information will have very little difficulty navigating the CyberLINXX interface. Once a user has gained access to the CyberLINXX system a wide range of features is available, such as:
* Transmission and Reception of Network Messages.
* Review of Response and Directed Messages at user's convenience.
* Reception and Display of Messages containing Images.
* On-line Help for System Functions and Transactions.
* User-defined Shortcuts to Common Transactions.
* User Friendly Navigation and Menu System.
COMMON RESOURCES
As an added benefit, the CyberLINXX Server utilizes the exact same underlying files as our standard network access products. This methodology simplifies the administration process by using a singular set of transaction formats between all devices (browser and workstation). Examples of common data elements include:
* Transaction Formats.
* Field Help Files.
* Transaction Help Files.
* Menu/Category Configuration Files.
VARIABLE SERVER CONFIGURATION
We have designed the CyberLINXX Server to operate at various levels. In any configuration, the Server appears as a single connection point to your State Message Switch. Message flow and destination controls are provided at the server, thereby reducing overhead on the Message Switch. The CyberLINXX Server is fully configurable to serve as an access point at the following levels:
* Statewide Access for Local Agencies.
* Regional Access for Counties or Working Groups.
* Interface Agency Access.
INTERFACE FEATURES
Although CyberLINXX utilizes your existing Internet browser, a full set of user functions are available to provide complete transaction processing while maintaining ease of use. Individual transactions are selected from a category list defined for each user. These transaction forms provide "fill-in-the-blank" data input with help available to the user at the field level as well as for the transaction in general. Fixed value data fields provide a list of values that are acceptable for the individual field.
Transactions may be submitted to the CyberLINXX Server by a single user action. At the server, each transaction is validated to ensure that data elements adhere to network standards and the user is notified of any errors.
TRANSACTION LOGGING AND RETRIEVAL
All transactions are logged at the server and responses to user actions are queued on an individual basis. Users may retrieve messages from the server at their convenience and flag them as archived when finished reviewing them. Individual messages are identified to the user in an abbreviated format allowing users to quickly scan through the waiting messages and retrieve only those of interest.
Messages received on the Server are automatically scanned for the existence of various elements. Each message that is displayed for the user is formatted, and controls are enabled based on the existence of known data elements. The following are examples of the data elements that can be flagged for an individual message:
* Warning such as: Wanted Person, Stolen Vehicle, etc.
* High Priority Messages.
* Messages Containing Images.
